Drawing & Painting |

Students will be introduced to the basics of drawing
uding charcoal, pencil, pastel and acrylic paints.
Campers will explore still life, portraiture,
perspective and fictional drawing.

Campers will spend the week learning how to construct
various types of books from start to finish using
adhesive and sewn binding techniques. Projects
will include an accordian style photo album, a
Chinese stab bound style journal and a found object
book.

Campers will learn basic hand building techniques
of slab and coil construction as well as firing,
glazing and raku processes. Focus will be on the
above skills but each camper will have an opportunity
to sit down at our throwing wheel for the unique
experience of creating a thrown vessel.

4:
Digital Photography |
The first half of the week campers will receive
instruction on the use of a digital camera and
participate in discussions on subject matter,
composition, still life, portraiture, photojournalism,
color and black & white prints. The second
half of the week will be spent editing and printing
digital photos through the use of a computer using
the Cedar Crest computer lab. Campers
should plan to bring their own camera daily to
participate in this camp.
