With continued interest
in ESPN's X-Games, skateboarding is as popular
as ever! This year we've made a change to our
skateboarding program by bringing the fun of the
skate park to the Oakland Yard campus. Camp will
take place in our new parking lot using custom
made ramps and rails that we've invested in. In
this instructional camp, beginner and intermediate
skaters can expect to learn the basics of ramp
use, rail grinding, and of course safety.
By having our skateboarders on campus, they'll
be able to experience the total camp experience
by having access to the slip-n-slide, weekly shows,
and breakfast and lunch club to name a few.
On Friday of each week, we'll be hosting an X-Games
style competition. All participants willl be judged
in a variety of categories suited for their age.
Winners will receive a tie dyed skateboarding
T-shirt. Winners will be determined based on improvement
made throughout the week.
Campers are required to bring their own protective
equipment (helmet with chinstrap, elbow pads,
kneepads and wrist gaurds) and rollerblades or
skateboard to participate in this camp. Throughout
the week, campers will be challenged progressively
on more challenging moves, using all apparatuses
safely.
Camp is open to children ages 7 to 13.
Enrollment is limited to 24 campers per week.
