Water Sports Camp
Skiers Pier on Loon Lake, 4180 Dixie Hwy, Waterford

In our efforts to bring you the best in waterski/wakeboard instruction with the quality programming of an Oakland Yard Summer Camp, Oakland Yard has teamed up with Pine Lake Ski School for the 2004 camp season.

Classes will include all facets of waterskiing and wakeboard training; from beginning to advanced. Trick skiing, slalom course skiing, canoe paddle skiing and barefooting are also offered. All ages are encouraged to register, so long as they can swim on their own. Students should register for one of three sessions(A, B or C)each week. Please see detailed session information below. Students are welcome to register for more than one session per week for the additional session fee.

All camps are one week in length and run Monday through Thursday.

On Monday of each week, students will be required to meet at Skiers Pier (2505 Dixie Highway) 20 minutes before the start of camp for a safety meeting and to finish up all paperwork. Parents will then transport their children down the street to the boat launch at the old Skiers Pier location, just west of the store front on Dixie Highway (4180 Dixie Hwy) for a 9:00am start to camp.

Tuesday through Thursday all students should report to the dock (4180 Dixie Hwy) 15 minutes prior to the start of camp to help load the boat and prepare for 2 hours on the lake.

Friday is reserved as a make-up day in the event that we should encounter adverse weather at some point during the week. In the event that a rain day cannot be rescheduled, students will be issued a voucher good toward one day of class at a later date.

Pine Lake Ski School was established in 1992 by Dirk Dzierzawski, a former school teacher of ten years, former Michigan State Waterski Champion, and a current tournament waterskier. Pine Lake Ski School has successfully taught thousands of water sports enthusiasts watersports techniques. This program will be directed by Jeremy Bachelor, a fourth year Pine Lake Ski School employee. Jeremy is the team captain of Pine Lake Ski School's wakeboard team and is currently enrolled in school to become a teacher.
