Put
on your work boots and grab a hammer –
we’re building a shed! It’s Construction
Camp for all future Do-It-Your-Selfers. You’ll
learn those invaluable skills you’ll
need to help mom and dad with fun projects
around the house. It’s safety first
in this new camp. Kids will learn proper techniques
for handling beginner power tools –
drills, saws, etc – under the watchful
supervision of John French with Eden Garden
and Landscape. This kit comes complete, so
every camper gets a chance to read a blueprint,
prepare the site, construct a sub-base and
floor, rough walls, erect trusses, install
a roof with shingles and edging, install trim,
doors and hardware and maybe even finish flooring,
install electrical and paint if time permits.
These 8’ x 10’ sheds are available
for purchase on a first come basis. They will
be delivered to your house for the cost of
materials (around $1050). Contact marty@oaklandyard.com
for purchase/delivery details.
This camp is open to boys and girls
ages 11 and up.
Space is limited to 12 campers.

ADVANCED CONSTRUCTION
Your house is
full and you need more room. What do you do?
Build up of course! In this advanced construction
camp, campers will build a tree fort. It’s
tougher this go round because campers do it
all - no pre-fab kit! Carpenters will select
and prep just the right tree, design a structure,
budget for and purchase materials. Then it’s
build time. This camp will start out with
a safety review for all power equipment used
and building procedures. All installations
will be rehearsed and closely supervised.
Once again, John French from Eden Garden and
Landscape will instruct and supervise. Campers
will need to have completed Construction Camp
or be admitted on Mr. French’s recommendation.
This camp is open to boys and girls
ages 11 and up.
Space is limited to 12 campers.

|
Oakland
Yard Summer Camps is continuing our
passport program to ensure that we
are a leader in safety by providing
a worry free place for parents to
leave their children. To accomplish
this, we will continue to issue camper
passports to all campers. In addition
to our passport security measure,
we will ask that you park your car
and come into our gated-area each
day to drop off and pick up your child. |
|
How
It Works: Campers
will use their passport on a daily
basis to check in with their counselors.
Counselors will use this passport
and the information contained therein
as a quick reference for attendance
and emeregency information.
Upon receipt of your child's
passport, we request that you fill
in the required information with
a pencil.
Campers passports will
be returned to each them at the
end of the day when their parent
checks them out.
There is a one time passport
fee of $10 per child. This
passport will never expire, it just
needs to be updated with your childs
current photo each year.
