Who's Line Is It Anyway?
X-Games Roller Blade

This camp is designed with the little want to be driver in mind. Children
who love cars and trucks will be head over heels for this camp.
Campers will be assigned their own electric car to drive and maintain
throughout th eweek while they learn the 'laws of the road' and 'car
care'. We'll be attempting to put a fun/educational spin on ownership,
maintenance, and operation of a car just like mom and dad!

All campers will start out with $1000 of play money, with the hopes of
having a little left over by Friday. They'll have to navigate several
obstacles each day: the used car salesman, the car insurance
representative, auto mechanics, and the police. All will be portrayed in
a positive light, with each experience being educational.

Campers will earn their drivers license by taking a written and practical
driving test prior to getting the keys to their new ride. Not to worry
moms and dads, these cars don't go very fast and the written test is
designed for all to pass. Throughout the week, campers will learn the
essentials of 'auto economics': fuel, speeding tickets, insurance fees,
and maintenance.

Practical knowledge will also be part of the fun including parking, four-
way stops, pedestrian and bicycle safety, merging, changing lanes, and
obeying traffic signs in preparation for an educational race on Friday.
This e-race will feature teams of drivers solving multiple driving related
problems like traffic stops, insurance claims, service station run
arounds, and traffic delays all in an effort to cross the finish line.
Winners names will be posted on our Camper Hall of Fame Board.

This camp is open to
boys and girls, ages 5 to 7
.

Space is limited to 8 drivers. Lunch is served daily at 11:30am

What's What at OYA
Oakland Yard Summer Camps is continuing our passport program to ensure that we are a leader in safety by providing a worry free place for parents to leave their children. To accomplish this, we will continue to issue camper passports to all campers. In addition to our passport security measure, we will ask that you park your car and come into our gated-area each day to drop off and pick up your child.

How It Works: Campers will use their passport on a daily basis to check in with their counselors. Counselors will use this passport and the information contained therein as a quick reference for attendance and emeregency information.
Upon receipt of your child's passport, we request that you fill in the required information with a pencil.
Campers passports will be returned to each them at the end of the day when their parent checks them out.

There is a one time passport fee of $10 per child. This passport will never expire, it just needs to be updated with your childs current photo each year.

Parents who want to pre-purchase ice cream and candy credits for campers can do so for any amount they desire.

Why do this? It allows kids to have treat without carrying around cash. Our counselors will keep the passports in a safe place during the day then at noon and a predetermined time during lunch club and working parent the campers can redeem their credits for candy or ice cream.

All ice cream and candy costs $1
Oakland Yard is once again offering transportation to and from our off-site camps for a nominal fee.

To take advantage of transportation, kids need to be enrolled in either the Breakfast Club or Lunch Club.

As overnight campers, we loved getting care packages from mom and dad. Our day campers can experience the same thrill with our OYA Mail Call. We have our own offical mailbox for you to deposit letters and care packages into when you drop them off in the morning.

We will have Mail Call on Wednesday during Lunch Club, if your child is not in Lunch Club we will deliver the package on Thursday morning.
In the event of rain, Oaklad Yard campers will participate in an indoor field day inside the dome. Campers may be asked to participate in activities othere than the camp they signed up for.

Camps that generally go about their business on rain days: Sports & Games, Arts & Crafts, Soccer, Hip-Hop and Cheerleading.

There will be no make-up days offered if a rain day should occure, except where noted.
