Does your kid have a BMX bike and helmet?
Do they crave the
rush of speed and adrenalin? Are they making
jumps and
ramps around the neighborhood? Well it’s
time for the first
annual Tour de Yard! On Monday and Tuesday,
a different
course will be mapped out using the whole
10-acre facility.
These different course layouts will include
jumps and ramps
that will prepare racers for off-site racing
on Wednesday and
Thursday. Racers, and their bikes, will be
transported to the
Waterford Oaks BMX Track, the site of the
Great Lakes
National BMX Race in August. Friday’s
race at OYA will
challenge the campers not only physically,
but also mentally,
as they’ll need to incorporate all of
the week’s obstacles into
the race.Races will be in the team form and
in a singles
format. Who will wear the yellow jersey during
lunch on
Friday?
Cross-training activities that will keep the
racers sharp
throughout the week include the ropes course
and lacrosse.
Both of these team building activities will
help to challenge and
build up the strength and endurance of the
campers.
This camp is open to
boys and girls ages 8 to 12.
Space is limited to 12 campers per session.
Bikes and all protective equipment can be
stored safely at OYA for the week. Camp
includes the camp wide pizza lunch on Friday.
