As one of our most popular camps, this program,
which features two
days on the course, historically fills to
capacity.
We would like to thank in advance
Heather
Highlands and their
employees for the hospitality they have shown
our up and coming
professionals the last nine summers. Both
Heather Highlands and
Oakland Yard Athletics are firmly committed
to the
development of junior golf.
All campers
will receive a copy of the USGA 2006 Rules
of Golf
on the first day of camp.
Campers will start their week on Monday with
an evaluation of skills by
our counselors. Swing, grip and stance will
be among
topics of discussion and practice. On Tuesday
each team will start
practicing for Wednesday’s team target
shooting contest.
Wednesday’s contest will challenge each
team with long iron, chipping,
sand trap and putting targets. Team scores
will be kept
with the winning teams being awarded championship
shirts.
Then on Thursday and Friday it’s off
to Heather Highlands for 9
holes of golf each day. Thursday’s outing
will be ‘best ball’. Friday’s
outing will be a team style ‘Ryder Cup
Match’. The OYA
school bus will transport golfers to Heather
Highlands. Both outings will
be closely supervised (1 coach per group).
Important note to parents: Golf
groups will be selected by our golf
camp director. Every effort will be made to
keep friends together.
This camp is open to
boys and girls, ages 7 to 15.
Each camp is limited to 36 golfers. Camp fee
includes lunch Thursday and Friday.
Rain days will be compensated with a free
pass for 2 to Heather
Highlands to be used at your convenience.
