Does your child dream of being the next Carrie
Underwood or Clay
Aiken? This camp is their chance to experience
a moment in the
spotlight. From singing to song writing to
performing on stage, campers
will learn the ins and outs of the entertainment
world and what it takes
to make it in the music business. In this
week long camp, Mark Edwards
will help students develop their talents and
coach them on how to sing
and write their own song.
Then it’s off to the studio to record
their very own CD! Last year
Campers took a trip to meet the crew from
the popular Mojo and the
Morning Show from WKQI 95.5 at the Clear Channel
Communications
Studio in Farmington Hills. They recorded
their songs in 95.5’s
production studio. Afterwards Mojo talked
with them on air! Campers
will spend the later half of the week refining
their
performance through a dress rehearsal in preparation
for their live
performance on Friday at 11:30 a.m. for friends,
family,
and the other OYA campers.
As an artist, Mark Edwards charted four Top-30
singles in the 90’s as
well as appearing on Billboard’s Top-50
chart. He also was a past
performer on “Star Search”. He
has worked with such artists as Billy
Joel, Le Ann Rimes, Michael Bolton, Mariah
Carey, Celine Dion and
Bruce Springsteen and in record promotions
as well.
This camp is open to
boys and girls ages 8 to 14.
Space is limited to 12 campers per session.
