Why is the IPL being formed?
The IPL has been designed to replicate
the competition of outdoor soccer while
playing indoors. Additionally, the IPL
is being formed to allow teams from
around the state the opportunity to
come to the IPL host site to play against
southeastern Michigan’s best competition.
Who can play in
the IPL? The IPL offers leagues for
U-11 through U-17 boys and U-11 through
U-14 girls.
Oakland Yard Athletics
offers leagues for U-6
through U-10 boys and girls,
as well as the ever-popular
High School Girls
League on Saturday mornings and High
School Boys Premier League on Saturday
Nights.
U-9 and U-10 games are played on Friday
nights at Oakland Yard and U-6 - U8
games are played on Friday Nights at
our Auburn Hills Dome, located at Opdyke
& Auburn Rds. The IPL, as well as
Oakland Yard Athletics, will work to
find like-skilled games and equal parings
in all the leagues regardless of age.
Do
I have to be an elite/travel team to
play in the IPL? No. All teams
are welcome to play however, understanding
your team’s ability will be critical.
The IPL’s focus is to find and
host games for teams seeking the highest
competition. When registering to play
we’ll need accurate win/loss information
for the previous six months. This will
help the IPL form divisions and leagues
with like skill-levels.
How
do you qualify to play in the IPL?
All teams qualify.
What
is the minimum number of games needed
to play in the IPL?
The minimum amount of games needed is
only 1. Remember the deadline to get
in the IPL is December 23rd, no matter
how many games you are signing up for.
How
do I pick my opponents? You
may bring in your own opponents or we
can schedule games for you against other
teams signed up in your division. We
will schedule opponents for you, to
the best of our ability, that will make
the games competitive, but evenly matched.
Can
I schedule my own opponents? Yes.
This is the beauty of the IPL: contact
who you want to play, get them to agree
to a date, let us know and we’ll
schedule the game. DEADLINE TO DO
SO IS DECEMBER 23rd
How
do I pick the dates to play in the IPL?
For January - March '08 matches you
may ONLY pick specific weekends, not
times. On the back of the registration
form is a list of weekends available,
simply circle the weekends you want
to play and we will get you a game.
In general girls U11 and up play on
Saturdays and boys U11 and up play on
Sundays.
A complete IPL weekend schedule can
be found on the back of this
registration form
Can
I customize my schedule? To
a large part yes, a team can customize
their own schedule. You tell us the
weekend you want a game and we’ll
get you a competitive game that weekend.
Several teams have contacted us and
asked to bring in their own opponents
and that’s fine with us. We’ll
reserve the time for your game on the
date requested. Once the schedule is
posted it is final. If you cannot make
the game, it will not be rescheduled.
What
is the time frame to play my games?
Girls’ games will be played predominately
on Saturdays, while the boys will play
predominately on Sundays. Start times
will range from 7am to 10pm on Saturday
and 7am to 7pm on Sunday. We understand
that coaches have multiple teams desire
to minimize their time here. We will
endeavor, but not guarantee, to place
their games as close as possible to
each other.
Can I play multiple games per
day? Yes. Teams interested
in playing two games on the same day
can have an hour scheduled in between
for rest.
So
when will the schedule be released?
We will post the full session schedule
on December 30th. The deadline for registration
is December 23rd
What
does it cost to play in the IPL?
The final cost per game will depend
on the number of games played. Simply
put, the more games played, the cheaper
the games cost. IPL cost information
can be found on the front of this
registration
form.
Are
there club/team discounts?
If so, how do I qualify? All teams/clubs
qualify for discounts. Our game fees
are related to the number of games a
team plays, as well as the number of
teams a certain club enters into the
IPL.
Contact Oakland Yard Athletics, 248-673-0100,
for more information.
Are
there league standings in the IPL?
No. However, the IPL will track a team’s
record and statistics over the winter.

are the games played? The IPL
will play games at Oakland Yard Athletics
in Waterford. Oakland Yard Athletics,
the main host site and the pioneer in
