Women 22 yrs. and over are welcome to
play. We are a recreational/competitive
league. Games can get physical, with soccer
being the sport that it is, yet not dirty.
We do not keep stats, however are striving
to improve both individually and as teams.
Our league welcomes you and are glad you're
here. We feel each of you are special
and matter to God and us.
2.
We will pray as teams before each game.
Again, all team members are welcome.
3.
Treat others with respect (on and off
the field, REMEMBER THE GOLDEN RULE-DO
UNTO OTHERS AS YOU'D HAVE THEM DO UNTO
YOU)
4.
PLEASE control your tongue! Refrain from
swearing. We realize this is difficult,
in a tense, competitive situation.
5.
Team captains, apprentices are placed
on your teams to go to with any questions
or concertns, please utilize this line
of communication
6.
Just some general rules, UNIQUE TO OUR
LEAGUE:
NO
CLEATS! ALTHOUGH THE FACILITY ALLOWS IT,
OUR LEAGUE DOES NOT!
TURF SHOES, RUNNING SHOES, OR INDOOR SOCCER
SHOES ONLY.
NO
SLIDE TACKLING! This is disallowed in
many places of indoor and outdoor play,
but absolutely, not tolerated here
One
finger rule with the goalies: If she has
one finger on the ball DON'T KICK IT!!!!
This is a protective courtesy for our
goalies hands and faces (or any other
body part that may be close to your kicking
foot)
Communication
between teams!: If a team is short at
the beginning of a game, both teams play
a little short
until the duration of 10 min has expired.
Subs for games need to be either committed
to the league
(already paid for a team or on a sublist
via Lynda Fabry)
When
one team is ahead by 4 or 5 points, the
winning team SHOULD NOT try to score.
Some ideas to address this: "switch
up" your offense and defense and
implement a
"pass only" game. Allow only
defensive players, the opportunity to
score.
All
players must wear the Kensington League
jerseys provided by Oakland Yard.
Failure
to adhere to these guidelines will result
in the evaluation by the soccer league
'champion' as well as the sports ministry
of Kensington Community Church.
WE
PRAY YOUR SOCCER EXPERIENCE WITH US IS
A SAFE AND PLEASANT
ONE WITH HEALTHY COMPETITION, FUN AND
FELLOWSHIP
